Faith. Hope. Love.

Faith. Hope. Love. The greatest of these is… lost. Along with the usual comforter set w/ matching throw pillows, I have 3 additional pillows, each with those sacred words. Yesterday, when I made the bed, I could not, for the life of me, find Love. Ironic, isn’t it?

I did find love a little later, but it wasn’t in romance form (I think that kind is gone for good.). I found love while working for one of my dear charities- Habitat for Humanity. Let me tell you about the significance of this build. I am on the Family Selection Committee. Our job is to find families that meet the requirements, and then walk them through the selection steps. I began working with this committee 2 years ago. Since then, we have approved 5 families. The process is long, and Friday began the building of the first family my committee approved. The thing I love about Habitat is the way it brings the community together. In a world filled with evil, and people quitting on love every day, somehow we manage to do some good out there. Had I not been completely emotionally spent, I probably would’ve shed one million tears for all the happiness taking place yesterday.

My job today was labor free. Karen and I just used our mad organization skills to work the registration table, followed by organizing lunch for 100 people. Above are pictures from this morning’s build (Um, yeah, having problems getting them off my phone. I’ll work on that later, so check back.). The slab for the house was built Friday, and the entire framework was completed yesterday. It’s not often that I get to experience the 3 greats of life all in one day- faith, hope, and love.

In RR news, not much going on. I'm still planning on San Antonio, AND planning on racing it. I don't have any aches or pains post marathon and the running looked like this this past week:

S: traveling, no exercise
M: no exercise, felt like complete crap, almost passed out at work for some weird reason
T: 40 minutes on the eliptical, light arm weights and abs
W: ran 5 miles
T: no exercise
F: 7 miles
S: 5 easy miles w/ Michelle
S: 8 easy miles w/ Speedy Anna- FAVORITE RUN OF THE WEEK!

Also, I am really proud that I didn't gain weight during the taper. I'm still holding strong w/ my previous weight loss. I can really tell that my clothes are looser, too.

Not going to throw it all out there (I don’t have any terminal illness), but if you guys don’t mind, add me to your prayer list, okay? (Yeah, if you don’t pray, just send some good thoughts.) I could really use it!

  5. Lots of hugs to you-and know that others are thinking of you.

Nice on the HFH work...I was heavily involved with them in college (and have done things intermittently since), and there is NOTHING like seeing a family getting the keys to their new home after putting in the sweat equity to get it built. It's great that you're working to make that a reality for families in your community.

  6. It's totally awesome that you are able to see God's love at work in the world through Habitat. Glad you are recovering well from the marathon. You are in my prayers.

  7. I am praying for you! There is power in prayer and God can help you see your way through whatever you're going through. We all go through ups and downs and that is what He's there for! God bless..

  8. Whatever the outcome may be, I hope it works out the best for you.

It's nice to see that you are so involved in Habitat. I was scheduled for my first opportunity next Friday by being a site host for a family in Cincinnati, but the teams made so much progress leading up to now that they had to cancel next Friday's schedule.

I'm glad to see you are recovered from Hartford and congrats on setting a new PR. I know you've heard this before, but it's only a matter of time. Once your outside distractions are reduced, you'll be amazed at the outcome. Personally, I think you are there from a physical standpoint and you just need to be confident about your abilities.

Wishing nothing but the best for you. Stay positive and stay strong.

You are amazing! Don't lose 'hope' and 'faith' okay? Humans can be amazingly resilient...take some time to find out more about YOURSELF and what makes YOU happy. I've spent far too much precious time doing what I'm 'supposed' to do and feeling bad for pursuing what I want to do or worried that it's all wrong - I know that's not your situation. But the point is to find peace within yourself. And it's there - you just have to believe in that. Hugs to you girl.
