And now onto running matters...

So, I guess I am recovered? I'm getting there, at least. Here's my week in review:

M: P90X Core Synergetics
T: 5.13 (a.m.)@8:13 pace
5.05 (p.m) @8:03 pace
W: 10.98 @8:03 pace
T: 6 @ 7:36 pace
F: 9 @ 8:03 pace (on TM b/c of storms)
S: 6 @ 8:15 pace
S: 16 @ 7:28 pace w/ 4 @ 6:52, 6:55, 6:42, & 6:51
Total: 58.31 miles

I've decided to get back into the habit of wearing the Garmin for every run. I think I might be sabotaging my training a bit by running recovery runs too quickly. I'm wearing the Garmin in hopes of keeping myself grounded.

In positive news, I've been accepted into the Brooks ID program. This is an exciting way for me to connect better to the racing world, and I'm really excited! Plus, the deal on clothing is really great, so that always helps!

Another plus is that I've FINALLY met Glover's Ideal Racing Weight for my height. (Actually today I was one lb UNDER that goal weight.) I'm feeling good, energy wise, so I don't think I've been starving myself or anything like that. With that being said, I am not convinced that this weight loss is going to actually help me. A good point someone made on RWOL is that I need to TRAIN and race at this weight to see results. I was pretty much there for Hartford (only 3 lbs over), but hadn't been that weight for long. Hopefully I will see the benefits of my smaller backside soon.

My spirits are picking up for San Antonio, mostly b/c I get to see my DEAR friend, Pace Runner. I can't wait!!!

Run strong, friends!

  2. Great week! Looking really strong. I like the idea of wearing the Garmin with each run so as to not overdo the recoveries.

  5. Fun stuff on the Brooks ID program! Congratulations on getting in to that. I've been hearing a lot about it lately...there's a guy on the forums who went to their running camp just for program members last summer, and he raved about it.

I'm interested to see what you think of Glover and his ideal weight ideas...on one hand it makes sense to me but on the other, I've hit more PR's a few lbs over now versus being right on the nose last spring. I guess it's an experiment of one, though, right?
