A Little Relaxation Goes a Long Way

If you know me, you know that I don't relax very well. It's something I've always had difficulty with. This past weekend, K and I went on an anniversary trip to do a bit of relaxing. It couldn't have come at a better time. I was feeling SSOOOOOO beat down for a lot of different reasons and just couldn't wait to get away. We headed to the beach Friday after school, looking forward to a great weekend.

Friday night, we went to Rum Runners. This is one of our favorite places and I had two VERY strong martinis- wowzers. So Saturday, I took off from running. My 2nd day off in 2009 and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. After a day of beaching, I was really looking forward to my LR Sunday morning. I headed out just before sunrise and had one of the best LRs this training cycle. I had plenty of energy and the time seemed to fly by. I didn't push the pace too much, as I was gearing towards another hard week of workouts. I ran 21 miles @ 7:34, ranging from 8:04 to 7:17. The scenery was gorgeous, too. Nothing like running on the coast to get your mind right.
I want to thank everyone for the encouragement on my last post. Life has been stressful with school, running, and other matters. At times running can be my relief or just another stress. I am feeling much better now and after being advised by Coach, I am scaling back the intensity this week just a tad. I did 2x5 @ GMP today and I felt much, much better than last week. Also, no hill workouts this week. I will be running Azalea Trail Run Saturday, but Coach has already advised me not to expect a PR. He said my body is in the brunt of hard training, therefore fatigued. Gee, really? I didn't notice. Haha. Below are some pics from our trip. In case you didn't notice, yes, I did chop off my hair.

    LA,

Finally getting around to here, first of all I think you DEFINITELY needed this weekend trip and can I just say, oohhh how much I miss Destin? Honestly, out of all the beaches in Florida, I have to give it to the pan handle, even better than the West Coast beaches!...jmho.. We will be back!

Hey is that a chocolate martini? and is it as good as the one in Chicago?... ;)

Also love the new hair cut! You look beautiful as always...just emailed you... :)
