Good-Bye...

portfolio. This National Board Certification has been no joke! I finished tonight at 10:40 p.m. and relieved does not even touch the iceberg of how I'm feeling right now.

Unfortunately only 40% of teachers pass on the first go-around. So, I might see this box again. At least I am finished for a LOOOONGGGG while.

  3. R, could you direct me to the post where you explain what this is? I'm a little lost, sorry.

  4. Squirrel,
I didn't explain it in my blog. NBPTS is an additional certification/assessment program. Part of the process involves reflecting on your teaching, students' work, etc. You also have to submit videos of yourself teaching and documentation of your leadership accomplishments. My entire portfolio was close to 100 pages, plus the teaching DVDs. I am trying to get certified in Early Childhood Literacy, which I already have a masters degree in. It will be a step pay raise, too. Here's the link if you are curious. http://www.nbpts.org/

  5. one thing I gotta respect about you is that you do nothing "half-assed" (pardon the term). It's either all or nothing. That's a great trait!
