Home is Where the Heart Is

After vacationing in the mountains at 6000 feet elevation, then visiting my parents in Louisville, KY, it was great to be home for a week. I love traveling, but something about being home in the summer is sort of nice. With summer school and running camp over, the only things filling my time lately are bulletin boards and duh-running. I decided to take my phone on two easy runs recently and get some pics of my town's highlights. This first set of pics is from "downtown" area where I have a 7 mile loop.
Look above and see why my students MIGHT have trouble with spelling. The next pics are of churches within a quarter mile of each other. All are beautiful inside and out!

The pic to the left is of the local YMCA. We are very fortunate to have such a large facility in a small town. Sometimes I like to run on a trail near my house. At the end of my road is a lake with a trail leading to the Brewton Country Club Golf Course. I love to get out early and watch the sun rise over the water- gorgeous!

Sorry for the layout of these pictures. I am still trying to figure out how to put them in the correct place.

  1. That sign is hilarious, even though it impedes your efforts as a teacher.

    Great looking churches, too!

I love the lake photos! And I agree - there is definitely something special about being home in the summer =]

  3. those churches are wonderful. If I had to guess I would have said they were in New England, Arizona and Virginia, not in one town.

I've had to put letters up on a sign like that. Sometimes you run out of letters and have to improvise. Two v's for a w (vv), things like that.
